Pre-requisites: All attendees must be proficient with basic Mouse, Keyboard and Windows/MAC skills. You should be familiar with the topics covered in our Introduction course (either by previous hands-on experience) or by having attended our or a similar course.
Duration: 1-Day Objectives: This course is the next step in exploring what Excel has to offer. The course is designed to introduce new feature s of Excel that will enable users to be more exploitative of Excel's facilities. Who should attend: If you have attended or understand the concepts covered at introductory level, this course may be your next step. Its main focus is to introduce users to more functions and formulae writing and look at the interaction between Microsoft products. It covers Excel Database utility and looks at some of the easy to use Wizard features in Excel. Overview of ContentWorking with Lists/Databases: What is an Excel list/Database? Sorting data using Chronological, Text, and Numerical sorting. What is Auto Filter? Using Auto filter to get a Dynaset from specific search criteria. Linking Formulae: Write formulae to link between Worksheets. Write formulae to link between Work Books. Formulae and Functions: Understanding Mixed Addressing. Naming Cells and Cell ranges in Formulae. Exploring a selection of Excels functions including ‘AND’, ‘OR’, ‘IF’ and VLOOKUP. Working Between Office Applications OLE: Copy information from Excel to Word/PowerPoint. Copy information with an updating link between Excel and Word. Copy Charts from Excel to Microsoft Word/PowerPoint. Working with Excel Files, Properties and Templates: Create Excel Templates from scratch. Add Protection to Worksheets and workbooks. Lock Worksheets and Workbooks. Hiding and un-hiding Worksheets. Protecting Worksheet cells. Create Templates with Data Tracking. Using Excel Wizards: Conditional Sum Wizard, Lookup Wizard. Text Import Wizard.
